Slow Cooker Bourbon-Peach Barbecue Sauce

Skip the bottled barbecue sauce and call in the ever-ready slow cooker to pinch hit this summer. Make this “go on everything” sauce with summers #1 all-star fruit: fresh juicy peaches.

Bourbon Peach Slow Cooker Sauce

Ingredients
3 pounds coarsely chopped peeled peaches (about 10 medium)
1 cup bourbon
2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
6 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation
1) Combine all ingredients in a blender; process until smooth. Pour peach mixture mixture into a 4 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until thickened. SERVES 12 (serving size: about 1/4 cup)
