What should you drink with your picnic plate? We have that answer, too.

You deserve a break (honestly, don’t we all?!). It’s a three-day weekend, and to celebrate your day off, we’ve cooked up your new favorite sunny days soundtrack. We don’t mean to toot our own horn, but it’s perfect for sipping margaritas by the pool at one last summer barbecue.

Our “Labor Day BBQ” playlist on Spotify is specially crafted with feel-good picks from Cooking Light editors. Here’s what they had to say about their top warm weather jams:

“Groove Is in the Heart” by Deee-Lite
“I was in college when that song came out (1990!), and I still remember Lady Miss Kier’s adorable dancing from the video and try to mimic it—embarrassingly, and to my children’s horror—when I play the song. It’s a song that never fails to makes me happy; it’s just so, you know, groovy.” —
Ann Taylor Pittman, Cooking Light Executive Food Editor.

Soulfight” by The Revivalists
“It’ll get you right in the feels and have you singing at the top of your lungs
” — Matthew Moore, Community Manager for the Cooking Light Diet.

“Goodbye Babylon” by The Black Keys
“There’s something so great about the raw sound of the entire Magic Potion album, especially Goodbye Babylon. I either want to be outside, or driving with all windows down when I listen to [The Black Keys].” — Rebecca Longshore, Assistant Editor at CookingLight.com.

“American Girl” by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers
“This song comes on, and suddenly I’m wearing a pair of Levi’s at a baseball came with a hotdog in one hand and a beer in the other.” —
Marie Silvio, digital fellow at CookingLight.com

Turn it up and savor the last few days of summer!
