Whole Grains Steal the (Side) Show

When you think of whole grains, brown rice or oats might immediately come to mind. Although those two are tasty classics, the whole grain horizon goes far beyond them and even includes some unexpected contenders, like corn. From farro and barley to quinoa and kamut (and everything in between), there’s a great big whole-grain world out there waiting to complement your meal in an oh-so-delicious and filling way.

Unlike refined grains, whole grains retain their protein, and they also keep their rich flavor which can’t be found in foods that have been altered or refined. When contemplating your side dishes for your next meal, let whole grains steal the show. Here’s a few of my favorites that have done just that for me.
