In our most recent In A Cook’s Kitchen column, homeowner Sarah Karnasiewicz paired a modern, matte black faucet with a more traditional 10-inch-deep undermount sink in white fireclay porcelain. The two elements are a welcomed moment of beautiful contrast in her Brooklyn kitchen, and it lead me straight to my laptop where I immediately searched for beautiful matte faucets for my own kitchen. Here are a few of my favorites.
Delta Trinsic Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet in Matte Black (Available Soon). $478, deltafaucet.com
Moen Arbor Matte Black one-handled, high-arc, pulldown kitchen faucet. $373, moen.com
Kohler Purist two-hole kitchen sink faucet with 6-inch spout and matching finish sidespray. $669, us.kohler.com
Brizo Solna single handle pull-down kitchen faucet. Shown in matte white. Also available in matte black. $520, brizo.com
Vigo matte black, pull-down spray kitchen faucet. $190 on menards.com
Why Matte? Matte and brushed finishes are more likely to “appear” clean. They don’t have the reflective nature of traditional chrome faucets, so a little streak or a few splashes won’t be as obvious. They’re also a more modern finish and can give a kitchen an instant face-lift without lifting too many hands.
