Slushy Sippers: Honey and Honeydew Wine Slushies

Make mine a slushy, please! A wine slushy, that is. I guarantee you that on a hot afternoon or balmy evening, wine slushies are absolute perfection. They’re fantastically refreshing, stretch a modest bit of wine farther, and are chock-full of fruit. They taste like a virtuous fruit smoothie, but with a bit of a naughty edge … which is my idea of summertime nirvana. With this icy treat in hand, you’ll be staying cool, deliciously.

HONEY AND HONEYDEW WINE SLUSHIES
Unlike with the other recipes (for which you can purchase frozen fruit), you’ll need to cube and freeze your own melon. To make the job way easier, pick up a package of precut honeydew, and you won’t even need to worry with cutting away the rind or scooping out seeds.

3 cups chopped honeydew melon, frozen
2 cups pinot grigio or other mild white wine, chilled
1 cup ice cubes
1 tablespoon honey

1. Place all ingredients in a blender; process until smooth.
